Closing all other background applications or restarting the computer of course helps. The glitches, pop and distortion tend to happen during times of CPU spike, like when activating a shot on another layer, or initiating streaming or record to disk.

Is this true? Is it just trial and error until you get a combo that works? But interestingly, it appears that the bus that each device gets assigned to has no relevance to what physical port they're plugged into.

With audio glitches being the main complaint (and more noticeable in music tracks) , i experimented with putting the (2) webcams into the USB ports on the Thunderbolt doc, so that the USB audio interface and the Blue Yeti mic would each get their own MacBook Pro USB port (and presumably each get their own bus). But when i check "Show USB Devices", from what i can see, there are still only 2 USB busses on the Mac?. regardless of the Thunderbolt dock? (and this is confirmed when i check in System Profiler / USB) Considering this, and that the MacBook Pro 2015 has only (2) USB ports, i started using a Belkin Thunderbolt Express Dock (version 1), so i would get (3) more USB 3.0 ports (and presumably another USB bus in the bargain?). First, i should mention that i'm trying to use (4) USB devices, including (2) USB webcams, (1) USB audio interface and (1) Blue Yeti mic. Hey Craig, while checking the "Show USB Devices" suggestion, i have to admit some confusion here. But i'm ready to try other suggestions, Thanks much! Or are they any known issues with using USB audio sources? i understand when one stacks multiple sources (activating different layers, each with their own camera w/mic), things could get messy so i've mostly taken precautions against that already.

Questions are mainly: Is Wirecast able to handle more than one USB audio source? And if so, how can they do that without being able to set a master clock and slave sources? Any advice on how to troubleshoot these problems other than shut down devices by unplugging, and then restart the computer? checking drivers for latest versions? (some don't require drivers, like the Yeti mic). I don't see any way to set the RME Babyface for anything other than clock "internal". However, i'm sometime getting some clicks and pops on the incoming audio (when monitoring in Wirecast). These problems are not heard from other Mac's audio interface, the outgoing side) and, when i also include my Blue Yeti Pro USB mic as a source, then the problem gets worse, and i'll experience audio distortion (on either or both sources) that seems indicative of a clock problem(?) (I do use 44.1 as default setting).

With this set-up, i can receive analog audio from my other laptop, already mixed to stereo.

The outputs on the back are solid 1/4" unbalanced TRS jacks to go to your studio speakers or mixer.I've been experiencing problems with audio lately, specifically when using either of my USB audio interfaces as a source into Wirecast, for example the RME Babyface, with latest driver for Sierra OSX 10.12.5 and Wirecast 7.7 (on a MacBook Pro 15" 2.8ghz i7 2015 model). I also like the volume control for the monitor headphone jack. Phantom power works great, and has enough punch to power more demanding microphones like the famous Shure SM7B.

You open that up and launch the link to all the setup, instruction videos, regi stration and software downloads. I like that it's powered by a usb-c connector, and when attached to your computer, it shows up as a drive. The software package is AWESOME with Ableton (better for live performance) and ProTools, which is the recording studio industry standard. This 3rd generation has "Air" mode - a famous sound profile from their higher end professional interfaces - which gives an option for a more open sound to mic recordings. It's also not too large, so you can throw it in a backpack or gig bag. "IT JUST WORKS." It's solid metal, and the knobs and buttons work smoothly with just the right amount of resistance - very professional. This is one of the best entry level Audio Interfaces on the market, also the most popular.
